In 1826 James Dandy opened his first stall in the market of the City of Chester. He quickly became famous locally for selling extremely good quality fruit and vegetables, many of which his family grew in the fields of Christleton and Guilden Sutton.

As we all know, Chester is evolving at a fast pace and with the new Northgate Development (which includes a new, more prominent Market Hall), on the horizon, the main bus station which gave the current market much of it's footfall, has now moved.

This development has seen some market traders struggle to cope with the huge decrease in footfall.

Cheshire West and Chester Council (CWaC) have announced a 3 month rental holiday and free bus link from the new bus station and signage to try to help, but footfall remains at an all time low.

With this in mind I feel it essential that other local businesses help the existing traders, many of whom have been there for decades, be amongst those who open in the new Market Hall, when it is finally ready.

Chester Market was a launch pad for our and other local, family businesses. This is why we feel so strongly that everything should be done to help others who trade from the market now, in their hour of need.

So I've decided to do something to help, if you spend over £10 at Chester Market during August, and show us your receipt, we will give you 20% off any of our bulk landscape supplies, from now until September!

This offer applies to any of our quality topsoil and compost blends, lawn turf, decorative gravel, play bark, play sand, crushed slate...

I am calling on all other Chester business owners to consider getting behind this campaign to support our market, it will be a crying shame if our amazing new market is devoid of the businesses that have been cited their for decades.
