Sealand Road to Become Safer for Motorists

Sealand Road to Become Safer for Motorists
Work has begun on Sealand Road, Chester, to install average speed cameras after a number of serious road accidents, two of which were fatal, over the last few years.
As a business owner whose employees, colleagues, customers and suppliers use Sealand Road every day, Adam Dandy was a key driving force and campaigner when it came to getting the go ahead on the speed cameras.
Adam said; "After receiving the news that Flintshire County Council would be installing average speed cameras along Sealand Road, I spoke with the mothers of two young men who sadly lost their lives on this treacherous stretch of road, both told me that they hoped that the new system would prevent yet another family from having to deal with the pain of losing a loved one in the future.
"I would like to thank local Councillors Christine Jones, David Wisinger, Bernie Attridge and Leader of FCC, Aaron Shotton, for their tremendous support and determination, to do everything in their power to protect local families and workers who use Sealand Road, from future speed related deaths and injuries.
"Speed cameras are of course not popular, but we as a community can no longer sit by and watch more people lose their lives on this stretch of road due to careless driving and the failure of motorists to drive to the speed limit."
