#MeetTeamDandy - Amanda

Amanda has only been back on British soil and back in the office for a month or so as she took three months off at the end of 2016 to don her backpack and go travelling – all in the name of checking out what top soil is like outside of the UK! Not really! She backpacked her away across South East Asia and Japan to take in the sites, soak up the culture, meet loads of lovely new friends and take lots of amazing pics (and selfies)!

A woman of many talents, Amanda is a truly, exceptionally gifted artist, specialising in animal and pet portraiture which brings two of the biggest loves of her life together beautifully – furry companions and coloured pencils! You can check out her work (maybe commission a pet portrait of your own, or buy one of her fabulous prints) over on her Ig page @arnoldsartshop

Amanda took all of the lovely photographs on our site of our products (there are still some old ones on there yet to be replaced so any shabby looking janky shots of top soil or bark are NOT the work of Amanda – she’s patiently awaiting the improvement of our terribly British weather so she can get back outside with her camera – you just can’t snap lovely pics of one tonne bulk bags of gravel and slate inside) mastering the art of making topsoil and compost look beautiful and not just like a pile of dirt!

Amanda has recently applied to go on the next season of Channel 4 show, First Dates (really she’s after Fred Sirieix, and who can blame her?!) so keep your fingers crossed and eyes peeled for a lengthy blog update if she gets her wish on that one!

Ten years plus some months is the time Amanda has blessed the Dandy Team with her presence – as with every employee, Mands is part of the family and her naturally up beat, happy-go-lucky, chatterbox nature really warms up the office and keeps us all smiling. A bit of a gardener on the side, Amanda raves about our Organic Compost which she thinks is “amazing” and her beautiful plants and shrubs would seem to agree with that!

To speak to Amanda about your order, to get advice on our products, find out how much topsoil you need, or to ask her one of our most asked questions per day – ‘if we’re still selling turf at this time of year and is it okay for you to lay it?’ (yes we are, and yes, yes you can btw), give us a bell in the office on 01244 280008 or send her over an email on amanda@dandystopsoil.co.uk!
