Quite clearly the summer has gone; although I must have blinked and missed it while it was here!
The weather is absolutely shocking today! It is quite literally pouring down outside and due to some recent yard remodelling going on; we have developed a bit of a flood plain directly outside the office. Wellies at the ready we are all persevering, although volunteers to do the hourly kettle filling dash are few and far between! Not surprisingly, due to this downpour we are getting a lot of requests for sandbags at the moment! Particularly the SOS Floodbags which are delivered via a courier and come flat. The great thing about these bags is that they are light and small enough to carry and store away ready for cloudburst. They have a gel foam inside which reacts to water. As soon as they get wet the bags "inflate" forming a flood barrier similar to that which filled sandbags produce. It doesn't look like the weather is set to improve anytime soon either, so if you do live in a flood prone area then have a think about getting some of the flat-packed floodbags stored away - just in case!
